The 2009 original carries a louder, sharper cardamom opening — almost medicinal — before settling into a deep wet cedar and coumarin base. The "blue flame" quality of the lavender-cardamom accord has been progressively dulled through reformulations in 2014, 2017 and 2022. Old-batch specimens are the only way to experience the original nocturnal sharpness.
MONKO listings are written around the actual specimen, not only the fragrance name. The release format, condition grade, stock status and batch context are shown before checkout, so the buyer understands exactly what is being claimed.
Samples are made for controlled discovery: wear the scent, compare the batch, and decide without committing to a full bottle.
YSL La Nuit de L'Homme was created by perfumer Nathalie Lorson and launched in 2009 as the masculine counterpart to Elle. The bottle, designed by Stefano Pilati, became one of the decade's most recognisable fragrance silhouettes. The original formula is considered markedly stronger and more characterful than current production.
