Released in 1990, Egoïste is built around a dense rosewood-sandalwood accord with a gently spiced, resinous amber base. Old-batch sealed specimens carry a fuller sandalwood density — more raw and animalic — before IFRA restrictions and ingredient reformulation softened the core accord in the mid-2000s. A sealed bottle from a private collection is the closest thing to an uncompromised experience of the original.
MONKO listings are written around the actual specimen, not only the fragrance name. The release format, condition grade, stock status and batch context are shown before checkout, so the buyer understands exactly what is being claimed.
Full bottles are released as individual collector pieces. Once the listed bottle is gone, that exact unit does not return.
Chanel Egoïste was created by Jacques Polge in 1990 and is now discontinued. It is remembered for one of advertising's most extravagant perfume campaigns — models throwing open shutters across a hotel façade — and for a distinctly uncompromising rosewood-sandalwood accord that was as intentionally self-assured as its name suggested.
